Henning Damgård Sørensen Painting 1969

A Henning Damgård Sørensen (1928-2013) relief, which is a small scale preliminary work created from the so called "Leporello" principal, which refers to the accordian-folds that make the painting change as you pass it. Larger scale HDS reliefs in the same principal can be seen at Konventum in Elsinore, Denmark. The relief is signed by the artist and also has a greeting to the Danish writer Povl Tolderlund Hansen on the back.

Henning Damgård Sørensen was a significant danish painter, sculptor and graphic artist, especially known for his geometric-abstract visual language. Starting his carreer in landscape painting, he soon moved towards the more nonfigurative style, experimenting with rythm and movement on the painting support.
