Clay lidded jar by Gertrud Vasegaard. The jar is decorated with an example of the typical linear ornamentation that Vasegaard frequently used.

Gertrud Vasegaard (1913-2007) was a danish ceramicist, working from 1949 for Bing & Grøndahl and for Royal Copenhagen. Her work mainly consists of stoneware, and typically includes large, simple shapes with linear ornamentation. She worked from 1959 as an independant ceramicist.
