Alterlyset - The Altar Candle - Sage

Sustainability, design, craftsmanship and outstanding quality are the core values in Alterlyset. The candles are made of 100% vegetable stearin of palm oil certified by RSPO. Together with at specially made pure cotton wick, it gives the candle a rich flame and a stable burning that is environmentally and allergy friendly.    

The history of Alterlyset took it's beginning in 1950 when Jens Andreas Dahl Hansen founded the candle factory Hygge Lys in Copenhagen and immediately became one of the leading suppliers to the churches throughout Denmark.

He designed a sculptural and timeless candle that could be placed directly on the table, as well as the floor. An iconic Danish design with its combination of simplicity, aesthetics and function, is brought to life through skilled craftsmanship and the best raw materials.

The fourth generation of Jens Andreas Dahl Hansen continues the heritage and ensures the good craftsmanship and the outstanding quality.

Alterlyset is made in Denmark, casted manually and processed by hand. It was launched in 2015, and is the iconic design in natural colors.
